Are you disappointed with the service you are receiving from your existing accountancy practice?
Do you wish you had regular communication from them instead of annually at the point of submitting your books?
We’re all in the same boat. The year seems to speed by and suddenly it’s that time of year when you have to pull everything together and visit your accountant to finalise your tax return.
Or, do any of the following ring true?
Your Accountants shouldn’t just be there to complete your tax returns. Instead, you should have a continuous dialogue with them throughout the year. This will ensure that the direction your business is heading in, continues to achieve growth. It’s not just about keeping your tax situation under review but the wider goals of the business.
Much better to have a continuous dialogue, in which you can ensure that you’re making the best of various reliefs and growth opportunities.
If your Accountant’s aren’t providing the service you need, it’s easy to move to a firm that will. For instance, if you were looking to move to Dominic Hill:
Simply contact the team at Dominic Hill to arrange a free initial meeting to discuss your specific needs. Perhaps you have a business that is struggling to achieve growth and you would like some additional business support. Or maybe, your tax bill is much higher than you would like.
Our experienced team of advisors would discuss your personal situation and circumstances, in order to determine the options available to meet your specific needs. This step normally includes a fixed price quote outlining a breakdown of the specific services required.
Once you decide to change to Dominic Hill we would take the relevant details in order to satisfy the regulators for anti-money laundering checks. It doesn’t take long and is usually just a formality. We will also send a proposal and engagement letter for your review.
If you’re with an existing accountant, we would contact them for professional clearance and handover. We would then advise you of the best way of communicating with them, to ensure a smooth handover of the necessary details and information.
Once we had authority from them we would be able to move to the next stage.
Once you’ve had a chance to review the engagement letter and proposal, and are happy with the standard terms and conditions we would ask you to approve them. It’s just a matter of both parties signing on the dotted line.
If circumstances required, we would apply for agent authority and the relevant codes to act as your authorised agent.
At Dominic Hill we understand finding the right accountant is extremely important and takes time. We have clients from many different industries and offer a wide range of services. Our clients rate us on providing the following:-
We will always work for you and not HMRC!

In light of this, we are encouraging our clients to set up their own government gateways in order to be able to correspond with HMRC on basic issues.
At present, we are on hold between 45-60 minutes for every phone call to HMRC and this is likely to get worse in the next few weeks.
1. The VAT registration threshold has been raised from £85,000 to £90,000. This means for businesses who’s annual turnover was starting to get near that limit, there is a little bit more breathing space. This wasn’t quite the VAT rate reduction we were hoping for but it’s a move in the right direction
